Can anybody give me a heads-up on reproduction rocker panel moldings for the 70-72 GS? I understand CARS sells them for $200 / pr.
    Any recommendations?
    Thanks.....

I got the ones from year one and they look really good, alot better than the ones presently on my car. They also come with all the mounting hardware, which having seen it, is a plus.

John, I did a review on them but damn if I can remember where it was posted (BPG?)...anyway, if you want pics let me know, the Stage is in the garage.....

I got mine from Year One, quick rundown:

Price includes all hardware as mentioned. Moldings are correct length, grooves aren't quite as sharp or deep as original but the red paint was put on very nicely. Small wrinkles on corners (just like OEM) but need to be filed to take sharp edges off and not hurt your paint. They wrap around the bottom quite tight (good) but some of the holes are slightly off from my originals (I chose to elongate the holes in the moldings rather than add more to my car). The material is much thinner than stock, so saves some weight or is cheap, whichever way you look at it. Very shiny, look very good once installed. Will not survive concours scrutiny but look excellent for the other 99% of people......

    Thanks, Tim!

A few folks have gone as far as to say they think they could even pass concours scrutiny. For the time being, I'm still trying to find a real nice passenger side original that I can polish up to look **practically** perfect; but that's proving to be no small task....:(

Yeah parts for these cars are getting stupid....if i ever do another one it will get rodded....just think, no date codes, casting numbers, correctness to worry about...just bolt on the a-body goodies (brakes, suspension, wheels, tires, exh) and go nuts....

Let me know if you want those pics.

I don't think they would pass concours, but once on the car they do look good. Maybe we're just too fussy is all (you are, I am sure, worse than me!!!:moonu: )
