Thanks Erik. I tested the 71 last night late and got a 15.2. Pretty good for stock! At about 70, it is just starting its climb :Brow: .

Well, you already know this, but the weight of the ole' rivi boats hold down the top end potential. They can still get up and haul some serious butt on the highway. And of course if they are loaded with power options, that kinda withdraws power by a little, according to some. I dunno how much power that power options "rob", but I guess they do rob some power accordingly. Those 455's can really haul on top end. :TU:

I'm dying to find out how mine runs down the 1/4........I know all those power options I put in are weighing it down. With the mild cam and stiffer springs I have I wouldn't be surprised to be in the upper 14's somewhere. Maybe I'll make it up to a track this year so I can find out! :Brow:

    This is true,
My 65 Wildcat Custom 4 door hardtop is bigger than my Riv but it's also lighter according to the registrations of both cars.

Was the 64 Riv's motor replaced? In 1964, they came with 425 engines.

Yep, it was replaced. It was an all original low mileage car that was supposed to be in running condition when I bought it, but turned out to have a frozen block. But as luck would have it, I found a guy who had bought this 401 from the local university. Buick donated it to the school in the early 60's and it had never been used in a car, but had been torn apart many times. I bought it for $300. We installed new bearings and had a new Nailhead. :3gears:
