    Quick run down

This car has been sitting since 1984-(70 GS small block)

Its been locked, so I decided to take the heads off in the last hour to get an idea what was the culprip, blown head gasket maybe.

Well, it did have a blown head gasket on the other bank, no water in cylinder, and the cylinder walls have no ridge to the upper or lower portions of the walls. So Im thinking I might be able to get away with just honing this thing, and re-ring it.
1 problem, its locked. Im not sure if its the rings...most likely, or possibly the bearings.
I've sprayed some penetrating lubricant around the perimeter of the rings, and still wont budge.
Anyone have some tips/suggestions to breaking this motor loose at the point I am now, before I have to rip the motor out and check the crank?
My engine stand is loaded with a 455 at the moment, so it might be a while
I know the motor has got to come out anyway, but I sure would feel better if I could get it to turn, while Im waiting for space

    Thanks for any help

It looks like the rings are locked. Try trans fluid mixed with motor oil. I have used that mixture with a red scotch brite pad to remove the rust you can see. Then try to move it just a little you may have to use a hammer to move each piston. Then clean each bore to remove any rust you can cee. Sooner or later you will be able to rotate the crank.

I freed up a locked motor once years ago. Sprayed mystery oil, put a LONG bar on the crank bolt and jumped up and down on it while my buddy keyed the starter for added torque. It took a while(3/4 bottle of jd and a sprained ankle) but we got it running that night. Engine had sat for 10+ years. Have fun.
