Ring gear 41 teeth and

    15 teeth on the pinion=2:56---is that how its done? This
    on a 10 bolt 8.5, Thanks Pete

    I get 2.73

    I thought you divided the number of ring gear teeth by the number of pinion teeth. Doing that, i get 2.7333.

    Yep. Thats how it's calculated. You have 2.73's :TU:

    Sorry- :Dou: -I counted wrong it is 16 teeth :error: so
    they are 2:56---wow so much for what is supposed to be in
    there!!!(like 3:08)Pete

    here is an interesting angle ...
    if your car has a 350 turbo ... replacing it with a 700R4 tranny would be similar to installing a 3.08 gear in place of your 2.56 unit ... AND... it would drop your 60 mph cruise rpms by about 600. :TU:
