Okay , heres' what I've been able to find out ....
According to my local Parts Shop my rear springs should be Moog # 5231
    ID- 5.580" / Coil Diameter - .531" / Installed Height - 8.50 / Load Rate - 803 / Spring Rate - 111.6 lbs.in. / Free Length 15.7" .
I got up under the car to measure because it sits so low in the back end .
    The Rear Springs are sitting @ 9.5" L/S ; and 9.25" R/S .
On the front they are within 1/16" of each other (frame to floor measurement) . One bad thing is R/S Front has 2 spring spacers . So I know I'll be needing front springs . And I'm sure before it's done I'll need rear as well . The car sits 1/2" higher in the front measuring from the rocker trim to the floor . Not scientific but I've checked 2-3 times and I've come out the same every time . So is it partly just a visual thing because of the wheel arches, or is it something else I'm missing ? Should I be crossing #'s to find a taller spring for the rear ,or will the car rise in the back a bit when I install new front springs ? I can't stand the "La Bamba" (A$$ Draggin' Look) .
Has anyone else ran into this ?

Steve, Front left springs were once spec'd to be a bit high, to compensate for the drivers weight. Try repeating the measurement with someone in the front seat.
My Moog book also shows the #5231 for the rear. The next heavier spring is the #6197.... 0.565" wire dia, Rate is 138#/inch, at 878# load. The station wagon spring is #5235, but is too much in my experience.
To adjust rear ride height, you can place spacers between the spring and spring pad on the rear axle. Use some steel or alum disks about 4" in diameter. You can even find these on e-bay, in one and two inch thicknesses.

    64' Ride

Hey Walt , Thanks for getting back to me on this !
So do you think the 6197's will pick the rear up a bit ? I'm going to try and find a shorter spring for the front . Money is a factor here . Should I just get
a pair of lowering springs for the front , go the Moog Route of "Hunting" for some shorter springs ?I have the Moog GM Spring Listing/Specs. printed out . I'm not going to go radical on it . Just looking good and driving good .
Thanks for your help . Right now the Rear Springs are at 9 1/2" Installed , Moog calls for a 8 1/2" Install Height . Or should I just run spacer plates under the springs in there now ? It's actually a nice ride (smooth).
