Thanks goes out to the BPG crew for a well run event. I would just like to single out one guy..... Rick Martinez. Thanks Rick! You made me feel like "one of the guys" even though this is the first time we have met. It means alot that you always had time to chat, and introduce me around. Thanks goes out to Bruce Hunter and of course to John Schmidt...... It's the personal attention that makes the event enjoyable. Thanks guys...... I had a blast!

I will second that Rick as well as all of the Northeast Chapter people are exceptionally nice.It has been a few years since I attended their Bash at E-Town,but whenever I do make it there, you feel very welcome.Guys like Doug Hecker,John Csordas as well as Rick make for an enjoyable time.I even met alot of guys at Berwyn last year who treated you like they have known you for years.I am happy to be friends with all of my V8 buddies.Iam now content on making the BPG Nats next year, even if Ihave to hitchhike there.I know where all of my winter overtime money will be spent now. Oh yeah.........Damn cool pic Mike!

The drive really wasn't too bad...... bout 10 hours. Friday I walked around quite a bit, then had to wear the back belt under my shirt the rest of the weekend.
Saturday I got smart and rented a golf cart and let Jr. drive me around snapping photos. I had a pretty good time!
I'll have to catch you on Yahoo soon!

In a way I am glad I didn't bring the car this time, I got alot of time to see everything and chat with some folks. If I had my car with I would have been all stressed out over it. There were alot of quick hand shake's and hellos! I got to put alot of ffaces to the names.... er cars.

I think Rick had ALOT more fun driving home from Salem today, (first axle bearings let go on the trailer and then maybe 30 miles later a blow out on the rear of his centurion!) But made it home safely. What an eventful ride home!

I'll say! I slept in at the Red Roof and left a couple of hours after the two "Northeast Caravans" had rolled out. With all of Rick's troubles I caught up to them anyway and even brought Rick the small tub of bearing grease I keep in my trailer. BTW Rick, that half full, 5 year-old tub of grease will cost you $47.00. It's a seller's market, Bud!

    Thanks!

Mike that's a great shot! Thanks! On Sunday I ran a 9.40 at 141.55 mph, prior to getting that big "RED" roof eye. I'll be plenty happy being back home racing at sea level:Brow: should put me in the 9.20's. Mike it was great to meet you as it was to meet others on this board. My only regret was that I didn't have the time to meet everyone. Hope on seeing you at Salem next year and other Buick events during 2005. Adam, what can I say, Doug said it all in his posts! My son cannot stop talking about when you chugged that beer and then the Wild Turkey shot.

The ride home was eventful. That part of PA must be the Bermuda triangle. The Mass boys blew their engine around there heading to the event. Dominic you lost your spare tire, me with my seized trailer tire, then the bee in the car and John Csordas slicing his finger when the jack came down on the trailer, not to mention a blow out with my Centurion only a few miles later.

Doug what can I say. :Dou: I told you I was leaving at 6 am and you gave me that look and just laughed saying, "Don't even think of knocking on my door that early" As with the bearing grease I guess Yardley can use what's left with his blow up sheep:laugh:
Doug I still want to know why only you had the race director shirt:moonu:

Hats off to Cole and Beth Smith and their family! You guys did a super job! Also to Brad Conley and his family, not to mention the rest of the BPG Staff and volunteers.
