My motor does not have the return spring bracket or the dash pot bracket for the carburetor installed.

My question is - Can I just remove one intake bolt and reinstall the bolt with the bracket individually?

History - I did have a new intake gasket put on the motor around this time last year (June 2019). My motor didn't have these brackets originally, so I didn't know about these. The return spring was just hooked to the end of the intake and I am in the process of putting a period correct Q-Jet on the motor.

    Thanks for the help!

Yes, no worries, just remove the one bolt and re install.

Hey Larry, sorry one more question. I'm assuming that adding the dash pot is a good thing, right? From what I see, it slows down the closure of the butterflies when you let off the gas to avoid stalling. Thanks again!

Yes, in theory. Do you need it?, probably not. I have a jetted Q-jet, and I don't miss it at all.

Ok, thanks...I do have a (new to me) Q-Jet with level 2 build coming from Quadrajet Power . Use to have a 750 Edlebrock on the car. Guess I need at least to put the return spring bracket on so the spring isn't hooked to the edge of the manifold.

Utah455 are you in need of a dashpot and bracket? If so I have a set, PM me if interested.
