Has anyone else installed a RetroTek speed fuel injection system on a nailhead? I've put one on my '64 Rivera 425 (basically stock except headers and MSD dist.) and have an issue with a high idle speed. Before I start playing with the mapping, I thought I'd check if someone else has been here. Other than this it seems to run and start well; great throttle response....
I cant help you about it but i think ppl here would like to see pics:kodak: . Welcome onboard! :3gears:
I'm not aware of anyone with that brand. Which version did you buy? VERY INTERESTING!!! John Eckford is building a 33 Spedster with EFI Hilborns David Lounsbery has a 23 T-Bucket with a 66 401 that has EFI. Can be found on the Yahoo group. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/NailHeadBuick/attachments/folder/1779599949/item/796830817/view John Everett (JESUPERCAT) owns a Buick Nailhead powered FED. He runs Hilborn fuel injection with alcohol and Nitro! Yes photos!
Here are a couple of pics from when I was re-installing the motor. It's quite a bit tidier now. The model I have is a 'Boss EFI'. I believe it has been superseded now by a newer model. It's basically the same except the ECU is actually contained in the throttle body and instead of pollished billet it has a cast finish (I believe!)... Thanks
It'll be interesting to follow this thread as you get your engine running,,,,find out what,,if any,,problems you might have,,,and how you like it after a while!!!!
I see you're using an aftermarket A/C system. I have one installed in my '65 Wildcat. Did you fab the compressor mount or did you find an adapter? Rick
