Rethinking ratios

You probably know i was thinking of going from ratios in the 3.7-3.9 range, although i did think this was very high.

Reading a thread that tested and found that switching rears from a 3.42 (i believe) to a 2.56 and lost only .04 seconds, i started to think that maybe i would be a little happier with something in the 3.4-3.5 range.

basically this car is going to be a street cruiser (4-5 times per month probably), around the town driver (probably about the same, mostly trips to the gas station :Brow:), possibly some street racing when anyone dares to challenge this beast (id give it 6 times a month that i actually deem them worthy of my car to own them in a race  ), and rarely strip racing (max of 1 time per month)

Were expecting 650-675 hp (flywheel) hopefully under 6500, which is where i plan to set the rev limiter (possibly higher if need be, up to 7k would be my max)

TH400 tranny, built to handle the power, stock gearing.

Ford 9" of the ratios i am trying to decide, detroit locker.

Plans were to have this car (about 4000 lbs with driver) in the low tens.

which ratios would suit me best?

if you need any more information ask away. :TU:

    Thanks in advance.
