    Hi,

I was putting in rear shoulder seatbelts from Morris Classic and when I did I removed the rear seat panels. They look pretty bad. I really do not want to spend money for the interior knowing this is a just a driver car but let me know your thoughts. The metal on the ashwell looks really rusty. I started using a nylon wheel to it but they are very rusty. Also, it looks like I have mold on the underside of the vinyl cover. The top panel doesn't look too hot either. I attached pictures. 20231227_155340.jpg 20231227_155305.jpg 20231227_155255.jpg

My front door panels are decent, warped and look 53 years old with uncleanable grime, but decent.

I know legendary has a lot of items, but I would be spending at least 1500 and it is a driver so everything will get messy again. I am probably answering my owns questions here but those rear ashwells look really bad.

    Thoughts?

    Steve

They all look that way. If it's a driver, I wouldn't really worry about it. Knock the scale off the bottom and use a little rust converter, aka skunk piss on it

As far as the mold, put some bleach in a squirt bottle and spray it down.

I noticed about a week ago that Year One had a limited selection of rear armrest covers on sale for $30 per pair.

Unless you replace everything, there will be a mismatch between new and old. It might be color, texture, installation variations, patina, whatever. If you're good with that, so be it. However, a driver is meant to be enjoyed....not worried over. Your car, your choice. People that walk up to your car to look it over won't give a hoot about interior wear and tear, they will want to know about the car, ask what year Chevelle it is, and tell you all about the car they had years ago that was just like yours, etc.
My vote is to preserve the metal with rust treatment of your choice and move forward!
