theres some guy on ebay selling ''resistors'' and my friend bought one for his 97 mustang gt and before we put it in i wanted to see what you guys think about changing this resistor is it safe ?the guy claims it is does anybody knows what it does ?much help appreciated?
Since there's no information about where this resistor is installed in the harness, I'm assuming that this is a computer-controlled vehicle and the resistor is to fool the computer into enrichining the mixture or changing the timing curve somehow. If Ford intended that, they'd have done it from the factory. If that resistor costs more than fifty cents plus 37 cents to ship it, YOU GOT SCREWED.
They sell them for lots of cars. Most times all it does is fool the computer that the air coming in is colder than it actualy is. They are really just hacks of sort that can be done by anyone for a few cents.
is it worth connecting or should i just throw away?the guy keeps claiming of the wonders it does but doesnt really say how does this resistor works.well all it says that it lets it breathe better .well thanxs i can always count on here!!!!!!!!
