hi fellow buick people. I'm looking for a good machine shop\engine builder in the british columbia or alberta area. I just pulled my engine and found my oil pump pick up tube hanging from the block by a few threads. I shut it down before any real damage was done but as i am this far i might as well go over everything. good thing it was the last ride of the season and not the first of 2008. any info or contacts would be greatly appreciated. i know there are a lot of great builders in the US but shipping/duty/customs etc make me nervous. thanks pete
Pete, I just posted up on a Hot Rod site for a location. If anyone can help it's those guys. A good portion of them live in BC, most in Prince George, the rest in the lower main land. I'll post back their replies. :TU: Frank EDIT::: What Engine?
Chris (BUICKSSTAGE 1) on this board has a shop in Victoria, BC. TORQUE MASTER PERFORMANCE 1-250-474-0622 Chris is a very knowledgable Buick guy. Tom Jenkins
thanks tom, i think i called his shop on friday. apperantly he's away for a few week due to a death in the family. ta performance gave me his # as he is an importer of theirs. i think his last name is skalig. i'm looking forward to speaking to him. thanks much pete
I'm dealing with a shop in Edmonton Alberta right now and they seem very good. They are building me a Buick 350 with forged pistons, O-ringed block and they are listening to the clearances I want. The engine is going to be twin turbo charged so I guess I'll find out if they did a good job pretty quick! EC Auto Machining 780-447-3668 Chris is a great guy as well so go with him if hes close enough to you.
Hi Pete, I can help you when I get back to B.C. I'm in N.S. right now but will be driving my Dads motor home back thursday, so I should be home in 7-8 days if all goes well. I can supply the parts, machine work and assembly at any level needed. I will also break your new engine in on my stand so it will be a install only for you. If interested you can PM me your # and I will call you when I get home. Thank you.......Chris

Chris is a great guy. Not just a "pay me and adios" kinda guy. He stands by his work and treats you as a friend, not just a customer. You'll like dealing with him. Hope things are getting better for you and your family. Hang in there bud. You've got 17000+ members thinking about you guys.ray: Be careful and have a safe trip home.
You can't go wrong enlisting the services of Chris Skaling of Torque Master Performance to do any and all of your engine work. Chris woke up my sleepy stage 2 engine a couple years ago and with some head porting and a new intake and carb we were able to knock off 8 tenths in the quarter. This year for a challenge I had him do an all iron stock appearing type engine. The engine ran like a dream. I did have carb issues but that was farmed out to a guy statside. The Short Block is a piece of art! Tom
