Does anyone have a digital pic of how to put the theft-proof center caps on? Looks to me that a couple of tabs that hold it to the hole in the center of the wheel have to be cut off so the strap can be screwed in place. I just wanted to check before I do some irreversible cutting on them, considering what they cost.

  2. John, I didn't have to do any cutting to install my repro caps from Mitch Romanowski. I maybe can take pics tonight if no one can help you during the day today with photos. Or maybe at noon. I'll try.

    John,
I bought my repros from Year One, and I didn't need to cut anything. The center caps have to be installed on the wheel, without the anti theft bar, first. Then the bar is screwed on from behind the wheel. The retainer is designed so that the bar can only be attached in one position.

Are you taking original style center caps and making them theft proof? If so then I'm sure you would have to remove the tabs first.

When you are putting the centers together take note of the four screw holes used to mount the tabs. Two are recessed slightly. Place the longer of the anti theft bars here first, then the tabs. Then simply insert and tighten the four screws down, mount to wheel and line up remaining bar to the bar already installed and use the 2 self tapping screws supplied. Do not over tighten.
