I was wondering how much interest there is for the 69 grille. It would be a homemade repro cast in pot metal from the one I'm repairing. That means it wouldn't be perfect, but better than nothing-if I can go thru with it.

I've also located a 68 GS grille, but don't have it yet. It too needs repair, but much less than the majority of grilles I see in the wrecking yards:beer . It looks to be a rather easy task for this one. Respond to this post and you give me a reason to buy the grille and duplicate it. :TU:

BTW the cost for either would be about $100 each.

  2. It would have to be pretty near perfect if you wanted to sell any, I would think...just my opinion.

I'd be plenty interested in a '68 grille if it looked better than the 35 year old Skylark wasp strainer I have. $100 bucks is not too much, particularly if it's cast. Now get busy, will ya?

I've been thinking for a long time that it would be better to make a replacement grille out of metal (I was thinking aluminum, but what the heck). That way it would be more durable, and more fixable. Some gray spraypaint would make it look very close to the original, too.

I bet you would sell a lot of them. I would even remove my plastic grille and give it to someone who cares more about originality than I do. All I care is that I don't have a big gaping hole in the front of my car...
