Im replacing the gasket on my transmission pan because I was leaking pretty bad. While reading page 5-33 in the 65 service manual, I noticed a PF-162 filter. How do I remove it? I tried to give a slight pull but it didn't come off. Do I replace it? Or leave it on? I attached couple of photos.

It pulls off, just muscle it. The tube fits into the case and has an O ring. Make sure the O ring comes out. If it doesn't just pull it out. It can take some effort to re install. Lube it with some ATF.
