Am replacing seat foams and upholstry on buckets. Ordered through Poston...instructions talk about securing listings to frame etc...Skylark /GS seat backs have a valley in the center. :Smarty: Center of upholstery is reinforced with a vertical piece of kanvas which is pushed through the foam and hog ringed to a vertical wire/steel rod tied to the springs. :Smarty: Problem: Seat foams supplied are for a chevelle...no vertical slot in the middle of the seat back but 2 slots are located on the outer edge of foam seat back. o No: I am assuming that I must glue the outer slots closed (as they are meant for chevelle) and then cut a slot down the center. If you have done this before you wil understand my dilema, if not you may be confused uzzled: ...mabe I should just take the whole thing to an upholstery guy! Mike
I believe the repro foams are a "universal" set and can be made to work with some "effort" I would not glue the grooves/slots shut. You can easily cut the slot you need with a razor blade.
Mike I took mine to Pacific Auto Trim 604.876.1780. Speak to Lou. They do great work and charged me $150.00 per seat. I highly recommend them. Harvey
