u guys remember the hurst shelby mustangs that carroll shelby built for hurst car rentals back in the late 60's? guys would rent them out for a weekend, may/may not swap out the engine, then race them saturday & sunday . return car on monday . people would steal the shelby engine & replace with a regular engine. fyi gerry 72 gs 350 ht #s
The cars were bult for Hertz rent a car and were painted black and gold. There were some people that would rent the cars for the weekend and race them in SCCA events. I have read a few articles in the old musclecar magazines about the special Hertz mustangs.
