Removing overspray from hoses

I was checking out the heater hoses, AC hoses and radiator hoses on the car I'm buying, and noticed that when the car was painted, they got a ton of overspray in the engine bay. I was wondering what a goot product is to clean the overspray off and get the hoses back to being black? I thought about laquer thinner and some others, but don't want o ruin anything.

    Anybody got any suggestions?

    Thanks,
    Scott

I would think laquer thinner or if you don't care about the writing on the hoses a scuff pad would do

I use a rough cotton towl with lacq. thinner on it. Keep the wrap wet and it works well.
