it is pretty simple. first its easier to remove the glove box then you can reach the speednuts on the underside of the dash, there are 3 but sometimes they only use 1 or 2 of the speednuts, after you remove the nuts then you can start on one side of the pad and pull it straight toward you and it will pull off, then to remove the 70-72 inst. cluster there will be 2 screws on the top and 2 on the sides after you remove the dash, there are also 2 under the steering column cover and a couple more phillips head screws on the front of the cluster. to remove the 68' remove the pad the same way but on 68's there are 4 studs with nuts on the bottom backside of the cluster to get them its easier to lay on the floor, there will also be 2 on the top and 2 on the sides, then pull the cluster out enough to reach behind it and remove the speedo cable.you will have to loosen the steering column. on the 68 you will also have to remove the 2 screws that hold the wiring harness to the back of the cluster. on 70-72 the wire harness is in hooks and much easier to remove.then just disconnect the wiring and pull it out. i think thats all hope it helps.. doug

When removing the dash pad: After removing the speednuts near the glove compartment, make sure to remove the 2 screws going through the instument cluster into the dashpad. If you do not you will damage the dashpad.
