    Hiya.

I've taken apart the dash of my 1972 GS but run into some problems. I can't get the hose off of the outlet. There's some sort of "clip" protuding from the outlet that locks the hose in place.

    This picture shows the clip:

Any ideas on how to get the hose off the outlet?

    Martin,
Thats the clip that holds the piece in the vent so you can flip the doors up and down. Hers is whats holding you up...The tabs are on each side. Some persuasion is needed and it will pull off Hope this helps..

*EDIT*...There are 3 of those tabs...

Easiest and quickest solution is to discard the old stuff and buy new vent hose. You can get a 6 foot length for $19 and it will do the entire car. I don't waste my time with the old stuff....plus you will never get the old/musty smell out of the fabric ducting.

Buy Motormite 2.75" dia plastic tubing....#96008 or DorMan 708-088

As long as I know I can get new stuff that fits I have no problem throwing out the old tube. This is never going to be a matching numbers car anyhow.

    Thanks for the help.

I saw somewhere that had the original style and material hose. Maybe it was The Parts Place but not sure.
