I'm repainting my interior and wanted to remove my dash to Repaint it. I've got the dash pad off, all the top screws and the 4 nuts under the dash. I wanted to replace my radio and speaker at the same time. Looks like a spiderweb of connections underneath. Is there an easy way to remove the radio without taking the whole dash out?

You should be able to unplug the wiring from the back of the radio. remove the ash tray, remove the radio support bracket. Then remove the knobs and back off the nuts on the volume and selector towers. Then drop the radio down and out from under the dash. If it has air you will need to drop the ducts.

Is completely removing the entire dash a daunting task. Looked like more than I wanted to get into when I got under there. Any chance of replacing the speaker without completely removing the dash?

I would highly recommend that you get yourself a chassis service manual if you don't have one. I attached the relevant instructions from my 67 book.

There's another fastener above the steering column, you'll have to lower the column to get to it. That would be for the whole chrome dash assembly.
Buick installed the dash panel with the wiring harness attached. If you do want to pull the whole thing, unplug the harness at the firewall and remove dash with wiring.

But you can R&R the radio and speaker without full disassembly.
