Hi all! I posted this in sparkeys corner and got no responce maybe someone here has had this problem? I need a hand here! I have an 1986 regal with a 455 and a t-10 9" rear. I changed the steering column from a g-body car that had a shifter on the console so I could get rid of the shifter from the automatic on the column. My problem is the wipers are not working right! They won't come on at any position on the switch except when I press forward to use the spray. and they only stay on when I'm holding it on. and won't return to "home position" every thing was a "plug and play" on the column or so I thought? Anyone out there come across this? I'm not sure what year the column came from I just told my local wrecking yard what I was doing and they came up with one . HELP!!!o No:
Sounds like your wiper control inside the column is shot. You need to get another one.....do you have 2 speed wipers or delay wipers?
Sounds like you severed 2 of the 3 lines. Check to see if the wires are intact with a testlight or DMM.
I fixed it!!! The problem was that the "new" column was not the "pulse"type. So I ripped apart the 2 columns and swapped the switches. A bit of a pain in the neck but its not to bad once you get into it! Works great now!:TU: Thanks all!!! Brad
