hey all, ive been building up the little 231 out of my 82 regal and its nearly ready to go back in the car.....but have had a hard time trying to put together a free flowing exhaust system. The main cork in my current setup is the stock exhaust manifolds. as you guys already know, the pipe comes out of the drivers side one, under the oil pan and back into the passenger side manifold. obviously no good for flow......I have already removed the cat and ran single 2.25" pipe through a glass pack in the stock location. ok, the question i wanted to ask is if anyone knows if shorty headers are made for this car/engine combo. i know hooker makes a set of full length tubes for this combo, but ive heard from multiple people that hooker headers have terrible ground clearance on most applications, not to mention they are like 450 bucks. Also one more question.....would a different year or model buick with a v6 have a conventional passenger side manifold, without the provision for the crossover pipe to the other side?
thanks for the help loyd....the g-force crossmember looks like a nice quality piece with a reasonable price. after i figure out my manifold situation i will pick one up for sure. OR ou: ........................................................................... ...................................................................................................... maybe ill go back to eating ramen noodles 3 meals a day like the college days, buy a tig welder, and fab my own crossmember and headers........NAH :Brow:
