It is my belief there is to much fault-finding opinions expressed on this board. There are probably many reasons that it occurs, and many members are culpable to some extent or another, including myself. It seems to detract from the purpose of this board. New rules have been created as a reaction. That should be a red flag for all the members. Do we want to lose the benefit of this board? Maybe we all could bear more responsibility for its content. This is my opinion based on observation, and is not in response to anyone or anything in particular.

    Red Flag

I have to agree with Patrick, I would hate to see this board go down the crapper. I enjoy it too much, had severe withdraw a few weeks ago when it was down. There is so much information and fellowship to be gained on this board it is unbelieveable. Buick people in general are the top of the line, and I just know we can survive a little difference of opinion now and then. Can't we?

I assume that your refering to the fact that we have clamped down on the comments in the "for sale" section.

There is a very simple reason for that.. when someone posts something for sale, he is not asking for a critique on his vehicle, his asking price, or the color of his wife's hair for that matter.

Simple questions regarding the vehicle are still allowed, I just want you to keep the comments to yourselves.. This was getting way out of hand.

I fail to see how this diminishes the board in any way. In fact, quite to the contrary, I got quite a bit of private feedback that a lot of guys were going straight to ebay, because they didn't want to get their car picked apart in a For Sale ad on V-8 Buick.

And that hurts the board, and the community.

The Classified section is just that.. a place to seek parts, and sell parts, and not really a forum for discussion, beyond questions and answers pertaining to parts/car buying and selling.

At least that was my orginal intention when I set up the forums. And I agree, most of us have been guilty of not using our better judgement from time to time, when it comes to posting on the board.
