STAGE III Lost Experimental 455-4 Bolt Main Block.

Looking for a decent (doesn't need to be mint, just correct please)

red 1964 Wildcat steering wheel for my 4 speed car.

This will be the one with the picture of the Wildcat in the center hub.

I'll try and attach a picture.

Could also use any other decent red interior parts like door panels, dash etc.

    Thanks,

    Fritz

    Wildcat steering wheel ??

John, The wheel in the attached picture appears to be textured (ribbed) at the 9 and 3 o'clock quarters and smooth on the top and bottom. Is this an illusion ?? Wildcat only deal ?? Reason being, I've got an excellent red Buick wheel same as one pictured, except no horn paddle. But I looked at it this morning and it's smooth 360. If you doen't know for sure, perhaps someone else can step up with info. Also would like to know if the two spoke wood wheel was an option for the Cats as it was for the Rivieras. Seems I saw one at a BOP drag race and car show last year but i never got to talk to the owner and my memory may be playing tricks on me again. Thanks. Bill V. Pnx. Az.

    Bill,

Thanks for the response. I am not sure if it is ribbed or not unfortunately (just a picture I copied off the net).I am like you in that it does appear to be.

I do believe the wood wheels were an option as you suggested.I almost bought one several months ago on e bay but I hesitated adding any options due to the fact my car was specifically ordered without options.Manual brakes, steering,no radio etc etc

I enjoy thinking someone special ordered it that way for weight savings to race, but in truth it was probably just some "skin flint" who wanted a lower purchase price.

Anyhow like you say, maybe someone can enlighten us on how the wheel is constructed.

    Thanks,

    Fritz
