Who has used a good rechroming shop? I have both bumpers and
several trim pieces on my 68 225 resto that I need to send somewhere.
I would prefer east coast, but am flexible.
    Thanks

Thanks a bunch. I checked out their website and it looks great.
I'll contact them tomorrow- I'm in KY so Nashville is perfect!

Thanks for the 2nd suggestion. I called Advanced Plating in Nashville-
they wanted $900-1100 per bumper! I thought that was way high, but
    I may be misinformed.

It is about $450 at Tri city but they now only do bumpers.

Grey Ghost where are you located? I have used a guy in Richmond Va. My Uncle turned me on to him. He does very good work. I think he does bumpers only but i'm not sure. He quoted me a price for my 1970 GS bumpers somewhere around $475 each. I can get a # for you if you want.

He does all my Uncles work and his black 1966 Galaxie 7Liter won Best in Class at Carlise this year.

    TriCity all the way.

I have had 5 bumpers done, and they are tops in quality and customer service.

Desert Dog has had some issues....do a search.

I'm in central Kentucky. Talked to the people at Tri-city and really liked
what they had to say. $525 for my 68 225. Know that's not cheap, but
it's half what Advanced Plating in Nashville wanted.

I used Desert Dog, they were the only ones who would weld a split in my bumper.

Job looks great and turn around time was short 3-4 weeks.

They will talk to you too!

Gary- glad to see another 68-69 Buick in the area!!!
Perform a search under chromers. There is a place down around the Fall River area that has BAD reviews. I called quite a few around here 4 or so years ago and had qoutes from $500 to $2000 (!!!) to RECHROME a bumper. I would send yours out or buy one that's already replated.
Good luck and welcome to the board!!!

    George,

Thanks. Maybe I'll see you driving, do you ever get to the cape?

I replaced my front with a rechrome, but the rear is proving harder to find. How do I know if my bumper is a good candidate for rechroming? It has a few deep scratches and a very light dent, and surface rust of course.
