Want to rebuild a Rochester 2-barrel carb, have a kit but think it needs re-bushing. Can someone elaborate on if this is possible, the mixture screws are turned all the way in to get the idle to come up. thanks

with a good kit and a little time those are easy to put back into good-runnin' shape .
as far as rebushing etc not sure - but - a little while ago on here someone reposted a great link or whatever that showed/explained the ins n out of these rebuilds and also i think it included some good tips on mod's etc . if they see this they will probably pop that back up for ya . or you may be able to use the search function to try and locate that .
edit : yeah , search "2 two Rochester" and look down the list ( second page maybe ) , the name is Kirk and it was from a few years ago .

It should be a 5/16" shaft and use the same bushing I use on the primary side of the quadrajet. You have to remove the throttle blades after grinding down the screws to get shaft out. Base plate is drilled with a special guide, and the new bushings are driven in, then it all goes back together.
