Rearend noiser when hot

    When I drive my car at high speeds for an extended period of time and then shift from drive to reverse the rearend will slap, sounding just like a bad u-joint. Its a brand new Mosier and is going back to the dealer to be checked, just looking for some other input for my own info. Anyone with some ideas. Thanks Matt :Do No:

    Yes sounds like you have the correct thought. If the rear was rebuilt ...what was the backlash set to? Or might be some tranny slop too in the output shaft...I would definetely go with u-joint first. Jim

    Double check the brakes in the rear too. ust incase it is a simple brake hang-up too. People normallly apply the brake when switching from D to R and vise versa. Could be the shoe hanging up in the drum. Jim
