Does anyone know of a good aftermarket company that sells a good quality rear window for a 72 GS? Also, does anyone make one with a modern type of defogger built-in? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
What is your location? (Update your log-in). If the four door is the same as a two door, I have one in SC. Will NOT ship...
No one makes one at all, you have to find a NOS or a used one, I found a NOS in New York about 5 years ago cost me almost $500.
Vague recollections that a 68 - 72 Skylark rear window IS the same according to Hollander for two and four door models. It is not the same case, nor does it interchange with the Chevelle.
Thank you 72STAGE1 and newmexguy for your replies. I'm still searching. There's a company called AMD. I'm sure they ship, but I don't know if their quality is any good. Maybe someone on the forum has used their products before?
I used AMD for the side glass on my 70 GS, it was ok, not fabulous, but ok. My 442 I used Pilkington, it was excellent, and they used to date code. But that was 15-20 years ago, I don't know what the product is like now. Summit sells Pilkington they show a rear window for a 70 Skylark on a quick search. https://www.summitracing.com/search/brand/pilkington-classics/year/1970/make/buick/model/skylark
Thank you mrolds69, that's the information I was looking for. I think I'll try the Pilmington window. I'll post the results after the installation.
Yup, AMD. Got mine through CarID. https://www.carid.com/1972-buick-skylark-back-glass/?filter=1&sub-model[ourBodyTypeName][]=Hardtop
