I was washing the Sport Wagon yesterday and noticed the driver's rear side-glass seeped a little water on the inside. I called a local auto-glass repair shop in the city and they said it's possible they may break the window if I took it in to have the rear glass on each sides taken out and resealed. What I'm needing to know is if anyone has ever replaced the rear side windows in their Sport Wagons and if so, where did you get them? Any leads would be very appreciated. I'll need them for a '70 Sport Wagon.
....I dont think you're going to find newly manufatured replacements - boneyard part for sure, I would think Maybe someone with a Hollander Interchange can see if any of the other GM Wagon Cousins' share the same piece.
I went to my body guy yesterday and he said he thought they could get them out successfully. I came up with a lot of dead ends on searching for replacements myself the last couple of days. The windows are sealed with butyl and it's still pretty soft. I told the guys at the body shop if I get the phone call that they broke them when they were taking them out they could just get to work with some sheet metal and make a sedan delivery out of it. I'm gonna gamble on the body shop instead of the glass shop. I'll know in a couple of weeks.
Rear Side windows I cut the ones in my 64 skylark, they were original seals, waited till a hot day and didnt break any of the 4 i cut out.I picked up a windshield cutting kit(square wire) and it worked great. Now if i can keep them in one piece till i get them back in!
