Just wondering what parts and tricks you guys are using on small tire non- tubbed cars to hook? I'll start; 69 442 no swaybars CE 3way drg shocks front and rear manual steering Southside Machine Lower lift bars Moroso Trick rear springs Boxed factory upper control arms with stock old bushings Hotchkis tubular frame braces Replaced all body mount bushings and hardware with new rubber HR Parts and Stuff lower reinforcing plates/gussets. kit was for G- body but I did some fab work to make work. 3/16 steel plate welded to reinforce upper control arm mounts Best 60' on M/T et street radials= 1.57 3.42 posi Thanks, Jim
I am using the no-hop traction bars, as well as adjustable upper control arms to set the pinion angle exactly where I want it. Also using this rear sway bar http://www.spohn.net/shop/1968-1972...ries-Rear-Drag-Sway-Bar-1968-1972-A-Body.html As long as everything is set up right it will pull strait down the track. Unfortunately when I took the car out last I did not get to really test the suspension out as much as i wanted to, I was running on some old nitto drag radials, and could not get them to hook with the nitrous, but pulled off a best 60' of a 1.58 with a soft launch.
On my full weight street driven '71 Lark I am using HR Parts and Stuff boxed control arms with the 1/4" extended lowers along with their Super Sway Bar. Leveled it out on launch and improved street driving. Took the better of a tenth off my 60' over stock control arms. Running my Mickey Street ET's I have pulled low 1.6 sec 60'.
Nice guys! I've looked into both antiroll-bars and will go that route when I see it necessary. Last time to the track my best 60 was a 1.61 and worst was a 1.75. I miss running Hoosier QTPs over the DRS but it was 97and humid the day I was racing so the track was a bit slick.

I have Edelbrock IAS shocks, a 1" sway bar and boxed lower, adj. upper control arms. I also have airbags in the rear springs. For everyday driving, I just keep them at around 6-8 psi. When I go to the track, I pump the passenger side up to about 15 lbs. and the driver's side just around 8-9 psi at most. Car hooks great with a 26x10 slick.
