rear end swap

Will a 12 bolt rear from a 69 skylark fit a 66 skylark?If not is it wider or how are they different?

 

Will fit. About 1 " wider.

Make sure you get the rear u-joint for the 12 bolt Chevy, NEAPCO 3-3130, about $25 at AutoZone.

 

Thanks George-i guess it would be an improvement to start with over the 8.2-would you know what gear would be in a 69 skylark with a 350 2bbl?

 

Originally should be a 2.56 or 2.73.
