I have a 67 GS with the 8.2 rear end. I was considering replacing it with a 8.5 rear end. I was wondering if I had to make any modifications if I swapped. I have seen 8.5 rear ends for the GM F body, can these be used or do I need to stick with the A body? Thanks

have to use an A-body, the F-bodys are different in how they bolt up.

although 64 to 67 are about 1 and 1/4 inches shorter you can use 64-72 housings.

You can get one from a Skylark, Chevelle, Monte Carlo,or Grand Prix.

    ...............Any GM 64 to 72 A-body.
