    I'm having trouble with identifying the code stamp for my 71 skylark. The code reads L " B and is stamped slightly below center.
    The " mark doesn't look like a letter so perhaps the code is just LB? I have no history on the car. I do know it is a posi rear end judging by the two black tire marks when getting on it and both tires rotating when off the ground. The " mark is slightly tapered inward going upward. Just doesn't look like any letter. :Do No:

    For 71 Sklark posi rears:

    LSB = 3.08

    LOB = 2.73

    LTB = 2.56

    Thanks for those codes. Now if I could figure out what that middle letter is. Rotating the tire a revolution and counting the driveshaft revolutions it comes up slightly short of three revolution. 3.08 I figure. Maybe someone at the factory didn't give the punch a good whack on that midle letter.

    Thanks again.
