Rear end grabbing on slow speed turns

So we have had some nice weather lately and I have been driving the Riviera around. I have noticed it before but didn't think much of it. The rearend seems to be grabbing very hard when making slow speed turns. It feels like the Posi rearend is not wanting to let the inside tire turn slower. It is more noticeable when I back the car into its parking spot in which I have to make a turn while backing.

Could there be something wrong with the Posi or is this how they act. I have only owned the car for a couple months, and have only put about 500 miles on it. I will try and pull the differential cover off in a couple weeks when I get back from vacation and look inside. When I refill the oil is amsoil gear oil good for this rearend? Should I add an additive for the posi.

    Thanks for any help.

    Prob rear clutch plate chatter.
try adding some part# 20-1052358 GM Limited Slip Fluid Additive

New gear oil in the rear and the GM additive and the grabbing is all gone.

And it will still do an awesome two tire burnout.

Consider yourself lucky.......mine did that and after replacing the clutches, flushing, trying different oils and additives, I could only help the problem but not eliminate it. It seemed whenever I drove a long distance and got the oil really hot it would start doing it. I wound up using weaker clutch springs and synthetic fluid with the additive, and that fixed it. She still smokes both tires :Brow: .......perhaps my side gears are worn. From what I hear this was a common problem when GM took the whale oil out of the posi lube back in the late 70's. Glad you had sucess. :TU:

I drove it about 40-50 miles the other day and then when backing up it was as smooth as butter. Even after doing this.:3gears:
