Has anyone here actually used this rear disc brake system from scarebird? They are back in business and I was contemplating giving this a try. If you used this setup, what did you do for the e-brake? I have corresponded with them several times about this but before I pulled the trigger, they sold out and are currently showing out of stock. I'm having rear drum issues with my 71 car and was ready to pull the trigger when I saw the out of stock messages and the new ownership on the front page. When I was emailing with them, they said they fit under a Pontiac Rallye II wheel. They appear to be built very similar to our Buick chrome wheels in the same 14" center is used in the 15" wheel. For reference, I was able to get the Right Stuff rear disc brake kit to fit my 70 Stage 1 by using deeper hat rotors to move it all inboard a bit more. You will also want to use longer wheel studs. I used Corvette ones to get enough thread to make me feel like the wheels were secured. As far as the parking brake goes, I believe you cut the end off and slide it through the bracket and clamp it into the lever for the shoe expander. The instructions they sent me are HERE if you want to look them over. If you manage to get them before me, I'll look forward to your experience. If I get them first, I'll post up a step by step thread.
Greg... I actually found those instructions yesterday (the search feature here actually worked for me for once) and printed them off. The system looks pretty simple. I guess the main reason going with this is the fact that I'm running the stock ralley wheels. I was seriously ready to order a system from the Right Stuff when I decided to check scarebird's site one more time. With the right stuff system, what "deeper hat" rotors did you end up using?
It was from a company called TSM I think. They are no longer in business and it was supposed to be some sort of redrilled Explorer or Mountaineer rotor for the 4.75 bolt pattern. I bet I can match one up from a 4th gen Camaro/Firebird if I ever have to replace it. If I like this kit, I'll probably convert my Stage 1 over as well since it will already have the proper everything else but the rotor and bracket.
Actually TSM is still in business at https://www.tsmmfg.net/ I've been checking ScareBird off an on for over a month and nothing is shaking loose for our cars. I finally left a note with "Contact Us" link and asked about availability. I'll post if I hear anything back.

My car has a leaky rear cylinder and a leaky master. If I'm going to replace anything it will be with rear discs. I'll let you know if they reply anything different to me.
Looks like they don't even have a page for our cars anymore. Looks doubtful now that they will produce a kit again. Bummer. I guess I'm back to the 81 Trans Am style kits with the wrong rotors.
