Here is a really nice Fireglow Orange / white GS California car for only $10,500.

Jeff really knows and loves the 68/69's, and if I recall correctly this one was restored for his dad.

David- I have also been watching this for quite some time. Very RARE color combo to find on a Cali GS.

George, Chris If only 306 GS in 1969 were painted Fireglow Orange a spring color only in 69. Can we find out the color code for this California GS? Did the DCR's miss this one? How many more are out there?

You would have to pull the DCR's for the "Special" vin number cars since the California was built using the Buick Special Body and Vin (3327). Eventhough it has the GS package it would not be listed in the GS Coupe DCR's since they had a unique VIN (3437, 4637 and 4667).

I just checked and I forgot that I had the DCR's for the '69 3327 body style. They list (with paint code Q)
    102 built at Flint
    41 bult at Fremont
These are in addition to any GS350,400 coupes and convertibles.

Since it was only available on GS models I guess we can assume that these were all Cali GS cars and not Buick "Specials".

Correct me if I am wrong Mr. Trom, but I think Louie's numbers above refer only to the GS's with color code Q. There were other GS's painted Fireglow Orange in 69 that received a "-" paint code as they were earlier production cars and the color was a SCO color until Spring (Louie, isn't yours a SCO car?).

I believe my 69 was the only SCO convertible GS produced in Freemont in 69, and it is a factory Fireglow Orange color.

As with Louie's numbers, I was only refering to the "Q" paint code cars.

OK, if the "- " 3327 Fireglow SCO cars are to be included, add another 8 cars to the flint total that were SCO cars and 5 to the Fremont total. Of those 8 and 5 cars I am sure that all of them were not Fireglow.

If we want to use the same "-" figuring for the GS cars you will have to add 66 to the Flint coupe totals and 13 to the Fremont coupe totals (again, not all were SCO Fireglow, no way to tell how many). The convertible GS's will need to add 8 to the Flint totals and 1 to the Fremont totals. So you are correct, that would make your "-" convertible the only SCO convertible painted in Fremont, and it just happend to be Fireglow. So a total of 4 GS Convertibles were painted Fireglow at the Fremont plant in '69.

I wonder how many Skylarks, Skylark Customs and Sportwagons got an SCO Fireglow paint job? There has to be at least one you would think....
