Hey Ken now thats what you call clear coat!I saw the cobra's on the back bet you can't wait to do a burnout in yards driveway.:3gears: LOL
Hey Alan, I plan on heading down tomorrow afternoon for Yard's sister's wake and just might make a detour over to Nick's shop. Crappy reason to happen to be in the area, but as long as i am I will definitely want to see it in person. Duane, yes it would look nice next to Ole Blue. In fact, Yards and I were debating today what car you might bring to his picnic as it would be cool to see them together. However, we figure the new 'vert or the X-Camino will be making the appearance. Steve, that chassis is just one Nick had for painting, so the Cooper's aren't mine. My chassis has Polyglas repros on it. I don't think I'll be torching them up too much- Nick would have my head! And Pat, I'm glad you finally came around to the dark side (or is that Green Side?) Thanks for the compliments DL and 64 Hardtop. Like I said above, wish I could take credit for the craftsmanship, but I just save my dollars and write checks to a better man than I.
Looks like Nick painted it the WRONG color. Looks like Cortez Gold in some of the pics. I say we hodlooms go down to Nick's & with some 220 wet-r-dry we should be able to "Color" sand it to the correct color, then use some "Super Duty" rubbing compound & with a 6000RPM buffers the 5 of us could have it looking even BETTER in no time!!!!!! In reality, I bet this car looks BETTER than when it was NEW!!!!!! That LimeMist will really pop in the sun with all that metal flake in it. GREAT JOB!!!!!!!!
Ken, The car is beautiful and looks to be coming along well. I can't waite to see the finished product. Looks to me like you are going GREEN ! ! Mark
Ken, The X is coming along nicely! It's great to see it come together like this. Keep the pics coming!!
Ken paid an in-person visit today and had a first-hand look at his pride and joy. He was dumbfounded. All the fresh, clean parts and pieces, the shiny paint... he was drooling and babbling incoherently when I saw him last.
I find it hard to believe it's my car. Looks too good! I was and am dumbfounded. To my eye the color looks dead-on, so Tom you can stick to your Nails and leave your sandpaper and compound at home.:bglasses: Steve, he's using Dupont Chromasystem. They'll start plishing it out soon, so it'll look even deeper when it's done. That metal flake looks great. By the time the car made it to Nick's shop, the color looked like split pea soup green- yuck! Mark, I really appreciate your kind words. This year I'll have a whole GSX in Ohio, not just 1/2 of one. It isn't a Stage 1 car, so I won't be part of the main theme, but I'm very much looking forward to being there.
You, my friend, are a dark cloud that follows me around.... Be nice or I'll hit my PETA hotline button on you! :bla:
i like to think of it as charity work ... like, comic relief o No: :beers2: glad you love it - cause otherwise that would kinda suck :TU: plus, i'm trying to get to 10,000 posts by new years so your thread is as good as any to polute

Maybe you're right, Pat. There is only one board member here who has the honor of being on my "ignore post" list. Maybe Alan will join him! :bla: Thanks, Carl, and I appreciate all the help you've given me along the way.
