    BRUCE,
I feel that you should make the rest of the members aware of the culprit.I would make damn sure that I would take care of this problem ASAP if I were him. This is a friendly site and people should be held accountable for their screwing others. I have posted a few things for free and I feel that you are only as good as your word.It may only get worse for other members if the name was not disclosed. That is why we have this forum,to make others aware of sellers or buyers. If they want to be good for their word they will do decent deals.Since bad word of mouth is detrimental this will keep bad transactions to a minimum. If we can't accept bad things said about us when we do a bad deal, then how useful will it be to have a good/bad feedback forum? It seems that we are ready to accept putting negative feedback from EBAY, BUT NOT FROM HERE.Does that mean that there aren't bad eggs here?ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!In my opinion ,the rest of the members deserve to know the names to bad transactions. Then maybe people will be held accountable for their actions.

Is it possible that the guy is out of town or something? If it's been an extended period of time, then yes, I would be on his butt like stink on.... Hope you can get this straightened out without having to go too far.:gt:

Ok, I have a thought. Yes one, even two a day sometimes...

Like all of you, the anxiety associated with parts buying can be down right cruel and unusual. You find it, you wait, it arrives, it's wrong, you send it back etc.

However!!!!! There is nothing worse than being stiffed. Plain and simple. They take your money and dissappear. They don't write, they don't call...etc. I know because I may be a victim. I'm going to wait a fair amount of time, then all out war will be declared!!! I'm still hoping it's just an honest delay and maybe the guy went out of town for spring break kind of thing. Believe me, I'll keep you posted.

Here's my thought: Since we are strong in numbers and cover pretty much everywhere, when there is a problem, lets use a forum just for hooking up with guys who are local to the scum bags who ripped us off. Give numbers, address, e-mail to someone closer to the S-Bag. When you're getting calls and e-mails from just across town, you may respond a little better.

example:"you owe Bob in Arizona, I live 5 minutes away from YOU! Would you like to send Bob his parts? Or give them to me to send"

The threats don't even need to be there. If I ripped off someone on this board, and I got one call from someone that wasn't 2000 miles away, you can bet I'd be in a shipping mood. Just the car knowledge alone would be enough of a threat. Do you really want a bunch of Buick guys hating you? Knowing the exact wrench sizes for oil pans and brake fittings etc. Also the fact that most in here are proud enough of their vehicles to post pictures and descriptions.

Regarding my current situation, I have sent 2 e-mails with no response. I will wait a bit more then I will be asking for help. I don't want to jump the gun, a lot of things can happen, family emergency, out of town....etc I want to believe that all Buick owners are at very least honorable......I know I am.

I emailed him , he told me i broke it , it was sold as is. The radio has the rear speaker lead cut off i told him that and he said check your delco radio repair books ,The wiring is in there . I called a radio repair shop and they said it's garbage. The pre amp would have to be trashed ! I tried all day Many times a busy signal . Kept trying , No answer . Then busy . I hate caller "ID" , when the bad guy has it . No emails returned . If i go to Reno he will be wishing he's out of town !:af:

reminds me of a sour dea

i bought an 85 442 from a dealer who picked it up at an auto auction. Everythings great 305 ho 2004r and 3:73 gears for $1800 bucks. So i go to give it a full tune up that costed over $200 bucks took me 2 days to get the mother scratchin fuel pump in (real pain) and i go to put the plugs in.....wait a minute they dont want to fit. the threads look the same, but the plugs i bought are fat plugs and the ones i pulled out are peanut plugs. I go back to the parts store and talk to a different guy he says these plugs wont work anyway theyre too short, so he gives me some longer ones and im thinking what if i put them in and turn the engine over and everyone of the pistons hit the spark plugs? so i call them back and have them cross reference the a/c plugs that were in it. they say its for a standard 305 not the h.o. motor. GRAND! that makes my day. I know the h.o. motors had 5A heads and the standard 305's had 7A heads, but they changed from 5A's to 7A's in the middle of 85,but i was cleaning the valve covers and noticed a painted stamp that read "TIMING OK" So im thinking this thing has a junkyard motor or something. I call back the guy i bought it from and he says do what ever will make you happy. So i ask for a partial refund or take the car back and give me some extra cash for the tune up that was on it. I told him if i wanted a cutlass i would have bought one. He doesn't like my offer and says he sold it as is and he doesn't have to do anything about it if he doesn't want to. We exchanged phone calls and emails but he won't deal with my deal. So i said screw it. I got a good deal on a good running 305 and a nice drive line and the only real performance difference with the 442 was suspension and drive line but it's the princable of the fact. There was some legal stuff i could have done but it's to late now. It still sets in my driveway unregistered and uninsured. (sigh) i could stroke that baby with a 330 crank and 330 heads and make a real quick olds but im still scared.

This board and the BPG are probably the best tools we have against these guys. I'm all for posting names.

While we're ont he subject here's some prevention tips:

Ask the seller if they'll accept a post-dated money-order or registered cheque. (A bad guy will be nervous or won't accept)

Get pictures of the item from all angles before the sale.

Get Insurance on the shipment. (Most places will pay for any damage or lost transport)

    ...any others?

Well, it pays to give a guy the benefit of the doubt sometimes. My situation has worked out. I was starting to wonder if the guy was going to stiff me but I wasn't too worried about it because it was not a huge amount of money. I just talked to him today and he had gone off to a three week job and gave my parts to his brother in-law to ship. Of course that didn't happen. So, after he apologized for the delay and explained what happened, he said he put my parts on the truck himself and I should have them in a few days.:)

It does bring up an interesting point. There is no garrantee when you order online. I think my earlier suggestion may be a good idea after the fact. I know if I didn't hear from the guy within a couple more weeks, then I would have given him more than enough time and action would be called for.

if anyone ever stiffed me, I'd make a vacation out of it!

    Drache Typical ****ing Canadian!

Can someone explain what happened to me? This sounds alot like the guy who only lived across town and ripped me off by selling me what was supposed to be a working radio for my Wildcat! Luckily he signed a contract that the radio was working so when it didnt because it was crap, I took him to small claims and got my $250 back!

Also I bought my latest Skylark project site unseen for $700 Canadian! What sucks is the guy didn't have the title for the car. I thought no biggee but he hasn't mailed me my reciept for the full payment (I have one that says "half payment of $350 has been paid") Im starting to get worried.

The car was not what he explained it to be but I dont know if I can complain about an all original (even glass) '69 Buick Skylark Custom!
