I have a friend attemptiong to purchase a so called GS, the car is a cnvtbl with a GS hood but it has no tach,no pwr or dsc brks,no pwr wndws,no sprt mrrs, so is it possible Buick made a GS ? How can we tell if it's a true GS

    gs4u2c Is that a 442?

The VIN number identifies 66-72 GS anyways. Most years GS's did not come standard with tachs, disc brakes, etc. so the options don't necessarily tell you immediately whether it is or is not a GS. Not sure what year or model you're referring too? check http://www.buicks.net for VINS. I could go out on a limb and say just as many Skylarks (probably more) had buckets, gauges, sport wheels, etc. than GS's did. Two of mine right now are bench seat cars without gauges or disc brakes.

Good Luck, let us know if your friend doesn't decide to buy it. Most guys on the board start drooling when you say 1970 GS Convertible.
