The man was truely gifted. A large loss to the music world for sure.

  2. I also just heard this news on a local oldies station. They proceeded to play his rendition of "God Bless America", and that was it... I can't figure out why they wouldn't have some of his stuff in their cd library. Truly one of the great artists of our time.

    What a loss. :(

How many folks remember him in the Blues Brother's movie??

A classic that I will never forget.

I have the soundtrack on 8-track, that I keep in my Electra....and play it over, and over, and over again!!!

    Godsepeed to Ray!

I still wonder why I have only heard about this on the web?

    Is the media that racist?

  10. What media are you talking about? I heard this on the radio the same day, news shows that night on TV, and in the newspapers the next day. No lack of coverage as far as I can tell.

Yes, a great loss for sure. He was born in GA if I'm not mistaken and his song "Georgia on my mind" may be our State song! Our previous state license plates had "Georgia on my mind". I saw a recent episode of Crossroads from CMT where Ray and Travis Tritt teamed up- it was good!

The Reagan funeral is kind of taking up the television spots.

I watch the news often and have not heard it mentioned twice. Everything I have seen on it was online. I know they are all wrapped up into the Regan coverage and he is worthy of it.
But I would think you would see a little more about it??? Aye
