    Hi;
I have a '65 Skylark that I'm fixing up to be a daily driver and would like to put on a set of the 5 spoke chrome Rallye wheels.
    It's just a stock 300 4bbl 2 dr hard top.
Is there any certain wheel I should be looking for?
In looking at some of the posts, some of the wheels put the tire out far enough for the tire to rub the fender

I have a set of wheels off of a '76 regal. 15" wheel w/ 5 on 4.75 and backspaced to fit disc brakes.

    Hope this helps.

    Got your mail,

    "How wide are the rims?"
    15"x7"
    4.25 backspacing
On my 64, they sit right in the middle of the rear wheel well. I have 255/60x15 bfgs on the rear. I think a 275 might fit, havent tried.

I am running a 3.73 posi 12bolt out of a 65 SS Malibu. The axle flange to axle flange measure's the same as the 8.5in 10bolt Buick (I think it was stock for car) that was in it when I bought the car.

I did run it at the strip with a 30 x 9 firestone slick mounted on the same rim. I did have to hammer the lower wheel well inner lip a little. Didn't take much. It pulled the front end off the ground about 6 inches and carried about 6 feet, but, didn't really gain anything in the 1/4 since it made my final gear ratio numerically too low with only a 3.73. Everybody said it looked cool, but, only turned a 12.44. Just wanted to feel a launch w/small nos shot.

I will take some pic's of the wheel's on the car on Mon. It's up at my shop.

    I'm sure you saw the other thread about 15 x 8 rallye's.

The company mentioned also sells these's rim's used if a 15 x 7 is ok for you.

    http://www.rallyamerica.com/usedwheels/buick.html

The 15 x 7 Skylark rim shown look just like the wheels I have.

10 years ago I bought them off of a mid '70's Regal for $25 ea.

    No, just a 300, 4bbl.

This will give you a laugh. I'm going to use it for a daily driver plus use it for a toad behind the RV.

You may not care about this fact for a daily driver, but the 1965 Skylark/GS had some differences in their stock chrome wheels.

Those original wheels had chromed (not polished) splines between the coves. Also, the coves were painted silver grey, not black. For what's it worth to you....

They were also 14", not 15" like these.

Mine are not for sale .... I bought them at a car show (flea market ) this summer ... sorry !

By the way I have the center caps but the plastic "lenses" are faded and cracked .... If ever I didn't found any near by to replace them do you know if there is some replica we can buy on the net ? The chrome rings are perfect , is it possible to replace only the "plastic" part ?

    Hi
Assuming you have the ribbed caps 1 1/2" high, you can purchase the plastic tri-shield and bird.I made tooling to remove the pot metal that holds the retainer.I pop the retainer and plastic out, drill and tap 6-32 threads 4 places using a guide plate to assure location. I also add a small anti-theft bracket using 2 of the screws. You buy the plastic, I will do the machining and supply the brkt. for $20 each, min. 4 caps. Cheaper than new ones.
Or, sell me the yours if they're real nice.
    You can e-mail direct mjrvandam@aol.com

Here's the best picture I can show you of the caps .

Like I said my chrome rings are in perfect condition , only the shield need to be redone if it is posible . Since the car is going to be store this week-end , they're is no hurry to do this now but I'll give you some news next spring if you could help me with this thank you
