Anybody here that has a radio cd/player and 2 newer 6x9" speakers? 1 in the original spot front side in the middle of dash and the other one in the middle of the rear seat back (69 Riv). Do you notice that the rear speaker sounds a lot better and can take more volume when you listen to them individually? Thanks.
Positive and negative terminal connections might make a difference if they were accidentally swapped?
Newer speaker have an 8 Ohm impedance and should not be directly connected to our old radios. Not sure when they switched. What kind of head unit are you using?
I have a Grundig radio/cd player. When balance is centered it sounds good. The front speaker alone not so much
EXACTLY! The front speaker/s will never seem as loud as the rear for that reason, even tho they receive the same amount of power.
There is no valid technical reason to believe a wire swap would do anything. Literally would only invert the signal and that only matters in extreme situations.
I checked again and the sound is actually great when speaker balance is in the middle. The front speaker would need an acoustic space like the rear has in the trunk to create (better) mid and bass range.
I bought a set 6x9 so yes 100% The original's are 6x9" i have a radio /cd player installed under benchseat
