I made the automatic version for my car years ago. I had it professionally done and used to give them away to people that needed them. I no longer have any left but.........

Mine were printed on white "sticky paper" and were them laminated. This way they stayed nice for years, and resembled the original "plastic" sticker finish.

I guess I'm "one of those people"
I did a search for decals stickers saw you past posts on the subject - judging from the knowledge you have you might have been "one of those people" at one time too.
I'm still trying to this stuff as close as possible to the way it was, i took pictures and recorded part number, locations ( even scratched in ref marks for some, before taking the old stickers or what was left of them) off.

Its really kind of frustrating when you order these things and then ones with different numbers or wrong drawings etc. ( I now know why thanks to one of your old posts - also found the judging info interesting), I ended up with a bunch that are not going to be used, because i later found better, or they are just so far off - better to have it missing than wrong in mind (PP vs BC keep it GM tag for example).

-I started out going to extremes, this is one that if you at my original pictures was there - but not real readable - I had no idea what it was other than it showed the TCS and distributer in the picture had the GM emblem and ended in 729. looking at other s digging the books asking questions on boards has gotten me to point of at least having a reasonable drawing.
wil eventually get to point where I'll have before and after pictures - they need to match dont they.

I've even went to trouble of removing the undercoating by hand ( still working on that actually) slowly layer by layer to find all those little paint marks etc ( now if I only could figure what they mean - get proper chassis stickers)

I now realise I'm not going to get back to the way it was exactly. They really are truely original only once.
Also have figured that things even within Buick where not done the same - Remember mine is Riv - lots of little things and some real big ones are different from A body.

PS The link to your website doesn't work - is its up ?

The ones I reproduced were the "1239728" style decals.

The "1239729" decal looks like what is found on 72 units but the vacuum tree has "3" vacuum ports instead of 2. (I have a couple of the 3-port vacuum trees if anyone is interested.)

The server I had my site on crashed a while ago and took my website with it. They said they were sorry.

I still have plenty of the 71 Stage-1 emissions decals I had made. They are correct BG type with no Stage-1 lettering which is correct. They are made of polyester with clear over them like original. They were not cheap to have made and are not the cheap vinyl. They should hold up much better than the others. I believe they are correct until some time in April 71.

    Dave,
Who did you end up using?
My spare '71 solenoid decal just sitting here in the box. Glue dried up long time ago.

Steve, Did you need the name of the company that made the decal?

    Dave,
I can take the name or send you the decal to have a few made. We can distribute, at cost, to those here that would like one.

Steve, I would be happy to take it by for you but project will be all yours. Before you decide I want to try and discourage you as it is very expensive. They gave me a price for 50 units and 75 units and 100 units and they they were all very close to $400. I went with 100 because that made most sense. I am still sitting on most of them, Not sure how many you could actually sell. They are made from Polyester so the oil effects the price. I had them done before prices went through the roof so you are looking at over $400 now. I would suggest slapping some glue on yours and throwing it on. It is a losing propostion no matter how you look at it. I bet vinyl would be cheaper but the quality is no where near as good and vinyl does not last.

I may be able to help with this project.

Give me until the end of tomorrow and I will see what I can do.

What decal numbers are available to copy?

    I did some research and found the following;

    sticker # 1238411 (71 A-body manual)
    sticker # 1239728 (71 A-body automatic, late production)

I also found the single extra 1239728 sticker I saved for my car, so I can remake some of those in needed.

I found no reference for the 1239729 sticker. This may be correct for the big cars, but I have no information about them.

So I guess we need to figure out who wants what and what the 1239729 sticker is for before I can begin.

Also if someone wants anything other then a 1239728 sticker I will need a clean example before I can do anything.

Here's a copy of my faithfully reproduced copy of my original sticker for my 4-spd '71 built 01D. Yardley had this repro done and I believe he might have some extras. I can also post a pic of my original that this was made from if that is of interest.
