I see the term "Quick 32" on a lot of dragway websites.

    What does that term mean?

Is it a 1/4 mile regular race or is it something else?

It's just another class/bracket. To qualify you have to be one of the quickest 32 cars trying to run that class. Most of the time they'll save at least 8 if not 16 slots for door cars. Always fun to go to the track on those nights. You might have to pay a few extra bucks to spectate. The track then uses the extra gate money to help pay for the quick 32 purse. Depending on what part of the country, these classes draw some very serious equipment. Go check it out.

Sounds like a competition field of 32 entrants who have made it through their previous racing class to their new level of competition called the "Quick 32"

It depends on the track . Ive run in quick 16 and quick 8 stuff too. Its usually reserved for one type of car on a specific night ( door cars only or open cars only)
Q16 and q8 are usually first to the finish line rather than any kind of bracket racing .Q32 is usually brackets/dial in like top sportsman in IHRA.

Im not a fan of "on the brakes" racing at 190 plus though . Like I need to look over my shoulder going that fast ?!!!

    Hey George,

Have you ever run any of the Jegs Quick Series stuff. They give door cars 2 tenths in qualifing. So a door car can qualify quicker than the 4.50 limit. Plus since it's all eighth mile, your only stabing the brakes and looking over your shoulder at 150.

    LMAO
I have heard about the Jegs stuff. I just dont like losing because I "went too fast" There is so much racing just south of me. We are an underdog but that helps us sell t shirts.
I raced top sportsman a bunch with my old car. You kind of have to trust the car to run the number . My old car was going 175-180 .That was with a car that would pull a lot of wheelie ( get the wheels out of the lights quicker) that had a lenco and a bruno(converter drive).
A clutch car is tougher to run brackets with . The car accelerates hard and Im too busy in there . I know some guys do it but its just not for me . Running comp is hard enough . You have to be a little aware of whats going on . Because I run in B/A most of the racing is out in front of me . Probably 7 out of 10 races are in front of me.(I am the faster car)

Stabbing the brakes in these things is good way to crash . Its carrying so much mph its just a little tough. I have raced some q8 and q16 stuff in the Carolinas at some 1/8 mile tracks that actually scare me . Limited lighting, narrow lanes, short shutdowns, idiots in the other lane. Id rather save the car ,shut it off and race again. Some guys are on and off the throttle, shaking the tires, driving all over the lane.

Its a good way to make some dough just for showing and selling some t shirts.I usually come home with money in my pocket. I think you just have to be smart about it.
    Anyway...
