Is it OK to mix advance springs in a distributor, like a light spring on one side and a factory spring on the other? I think it's OK, but I want some other opinions...just to make sure...Thanks!

Sure it is. That's the best way to get the advance in where you want it. The Crane adjustable comes with three sets of springs, blue (heavy), silver (medium), and yellow (light). 2 yellow start the advance at 600 RPM, all in at 1600. 2 silver, 600-2200, 2 blue 800-3200. silver-yellow, 600-1800, yellow-blue, 800-2600, blue-silver, 800-2800.

Larry gave you the answer... i give you a question:
Are you still using the Mr Gasket kit? (and if, is it realy working ok for you? the adjustment rate is verry smal in the Mr G kit)

    Thanks Larry!

Snowmad--Right now, I'm using the Mr. Gasket weights with the factory springs...I want to throw one lighter spring in with a factory spring. Even with the two heaviest springs in the kit, the car would ping like mad, even with only 32 or 33 degrees total. It runs without pinging now, but I can't leave well enough alone... :)
