Looking at getting a cam for the v-6 its a 1986 and in the poston book they say any cam with more than .420 life that the guides need to be cut down--and the turbo cams have more lift that and theres nothing about lift in th book about getting the guides cut down. What gives?

I want a bigger cam in my project v-6

I built an '82 V-6, and was told the same thing from Kenne-Bell, anything more than .420 the guides need to be cut. I now have an '87GN with a billet roller cam with .470 lift and was told clearance isnt an issue with this lift. I have been running this cam for a few years with no issues. You may want to try Turbobuick.com or the Turbo Regal web ring. Lots of info on the Buick turbo V-6, and history of the V-6 in general. Hope this helps. Mark
