    Hi all,
I was just curious on everyone's opinion on which ignition is best for the 455. I was looking into getting either the Malloroy or the MSD setup, but I really can't decide and was looking for a little input. If it helps, my engine is sorta mild (very small lope, I mean very small...but it is noticable) and I plan on convertining it to EFI in the next year or two. Thanks for any help!

Next time you are at a car cruise night, or show, look at what most guys are running for ignition. I think you will find that it is MSD. I rest my case.

Yeah, kinda figured msd...just looking for confirmation

    Thanks,
I kinda figured on msd, but TA performance seems to support Mallory or whatever they're called (I forgot). Any advice on which msd is the best? 6 series of some sort, 7, some other one? Thanks,

I find that if you are going to build an all out race car then MSD is a very good choice. If you are going to have a street and sometimes strip car why pay the extra money for something you can get for less.

An MSD setup is going to cost you nearly double of a Mallory setup. (at least in my experience)

I am a little biased since I worked for a company that is now out of business called Super Shops that sold mainly Mallory.

We did offer MSD but not as much.

I have a Comp 9000, Hyfire VI box, and their racemaster coil in my 455 and like it very much.

With a Hyfire VI box and their racemaster coil against a MSD setup you will not be able to tell the difference in performance.

    Taylor,
Yeah, I'm still in Kuwait, but we have a flight date to leave on the 24th...so basically...FOUR DAYS!!!! This would be our third flight date so far, at the end of our second (or third, depending on how you count) extension. So hopefully we're out of here this time. I'm just trying to get everything together now, so it'll be less retarded when I get home.
