question regarding window tracks and regulators

My 67 skylark has power windows. I have so far proven that both back windows and the passenger door window function and go up and down with power. My drivers door is off right now and I need help to stabilize it before testing it.
Anyway, the windows move up and down, but hesitate a little here and there and I am assuming the tracks and rollers are dirty and dry.

I have read here that a bit of lithium grease or similar will work well to free these up. Being as they are 45 years old or whatever, I wonder if I should disassemble the track work and remove the windows to clean everything up and kill off the rust on the tracks. I don't really want to do that as it seems like I am opening a whole world of issues regarding window track alignment.

This is a frame-on resto-mod that I am doing. All the window seals and felts are being replaced and the window felts are now off the car. Watching a Youtube video it doesn't seem extremely hard to do, however I'm sure this guy has done dozens of these. Here is the link to the vid.

So, is there an effective method of cleaning and greasing the window tracks and rollers, or is it really just down to remove them or not. I guess I can just grease them a bit and if they give me problems later, deal with it then. It really doesn't matter when it gets done just so long as it is done before the window seals and felts are installed.

Give me a little direction on this. What are your attitudes and experiences with window tracks and regulators.?

    Thanks
    Jon

While I have never removed and reinstalled tracks and regulators, I have loosened the fasteners and adjusted them. My experience has been that getting the alignment exactly right can be rather tedious. Throw in razor sharp metal edges which will carve into unprotected skin, makes for a fun project. :puzzled: If memory serves me correctly, I adjusted them with windows fully raised. It took time to do, but it eventually worked out.:beer

If you haven't already done so, clean and lubricate the PW motor gear assembly while they are out, or accessible. Lithium grease lasts a fairly long time, so if the tracks are not too dirty or rusty, I'd simply lube them and reassemble.

I don't have PW, but you should get like a flux or acid brush + brush the rollers + slides with lithium grease , the stuff in the plastic tub. I'm not familiar with 67 motors, but I think later motors have like gearbox with grease and that grease dries up and makes the motors work hard. If you google it I've seen articles to re-grease them.
