If you go from an open rear to a posi rear in the same car - how much additional HP drain is on the driveline? How much does this affect gas mileage, assuming the same ratio gears? What have you experienced?

No difference at all. The posi is only being engaged when the one tire isn't getting traction. Other than that, there is no difference.

Only thing I ever noticed was the car handles better

Mileage tends to go down as a result of being able to now spin both wheels, which is twice as much fun as spinning only one. The main culprit, however, is not the posi, but the increased weight in the right foot. :3gears:

...and then there's the corresponding decrease in tire life too!

Not to mention the extra wax you have to put on the rear quarters

I got a tip at Salem last year to spray WD40 on the lower fenders and tail pipes so the rubber just wipes off with a towel. Just thought I'd pass that along.

    What?

NO WAY!!! You WANT it to stick! So you can say "Look guys, Both quarters and LOTS of it! My car does he!!acious sideways BURNOUTS now"! Gas & tire mileage decreases :3gears: but you can't get rid of the GRIN!
